Lightweight construction systems and aluminium welding
Aluminium is used wherever lightweight components are required, such as in vehicle construction, aircraft construction, equipment construction and also in the manufacture of lightweight cranes and lifting devices. Aluminium is one of the light metals and, with the appropriate know-how, can also be welded relatively well using various welding processes.
When welding aluminium, the following welding processes can be used. MIG welding, TIG welding, oxyacetylene welding, CMT welding but also electrode welding. Alternating current is preferred for welding aluminium. In AC welding, the electrode is both anode and cathode. The positive half-wave of the alternating current has a cleaning effect and destroys the high-melting oxide layer of the light metal, which is particularly advantageous when welding aluminium.
SCHILLING Gerätebau has focused on lightweight aluminium construction right from the start, as the advantages are obvious, especially with our crane and lifting products.
The advantages of our ALU lightweight cranes and aluminium welding technology are as follows:
- Low own weight / transport weight
- Longevity
- High stability
- Easy and quick to assemble
- Flexible choice of location due to easy mobility
