Crane-Projects at the North Pole

Project description

As very often in life, it was a matter of chance. The important contact was established by a french stone cutter dealer. Professor Laurent Reynès, holding a chair in sculpture at the Ecole d‘Architecture in Strasbourg was looking for a 5.50 m high Crane for assembling ice blocks in a very heavy sculpture, a strictly geometric archway at the North Pole.

All solutions he knew by then turned out to be unsuitable for transport or handling. Having the reputation of a creative company in our branch, we offered him an alternative.

A lightweight Crane, made of special aluminium profiles, collapsible for the transport in an aircraft and easy to put up on the spot. The product convinced the professor immediately.

Today, the metal stand which met the requirements of the job with flying colours is installed in a research center in Siberia where it is used for deep drilling work in the eternal ice.
